Birchbox April 2014

 Birchbox

Price: $10.00 (includes shipping)

Ships out: Every month

Extras: Point system that based on the reviews of the products you review and the referrals that can be used in the Birchbox Shop. I have found that some items are exclusively sold in the Birchbox Shop so the points can add up to a nice discount.

 First Look!

This month's theme is "Rainy Days"

Each box included these pull out cards with suggestions of things to do on rainy spring days.

FULL SIZE! Kind Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt bar. This bar was so good. I really liked the sea salt pieces that were throughout.  They were large pieces so when you bit into the bar with a sea salt kernel you really got a kick in the head with salt. I keep trying to find these in stores and I can't seem to find them anywhere.

1 oz. Shea Terra Rose Hips Black Soap deep pore Facial Cleanser

0.25 fl. oz.  Color Club nail lacquer in 'Gold Struck' I was initially disappointed in this because I thought that it was the exact color that I have received from Birchbox in the past. But once I compared the two colors next to each other, I noticed that this color is a more shimmery rose gold color and the color I received in a previous box was a more bronze color.  I actually liked this rose gold color better.

0.7 oz.  The Balm "How 'bout Them Apples" cheek and lip cream
The only color sent out was the color 'Pie' I really love receiving The Balm products in sample boxes. I don't even mind how small the samples are because they are always so cutely packaged - plus the products have all been really good.

2 fl. oz. Fekkai Salon Technician color care shampoo

Everything I received in this month's box!

Little Black Bag March 2014

Little Black Bag

Little Black Bag is a different monthly subscription service.  You sign up as a monthly member and pick a product each month that varies in price according to the picked item and suggested retail price.  The price you pay is always much less than the suggested retail price, even if you choose the bundle option.  You can choose just the product that you want to purchase or for a little more money you can choose to bundle the item.  This usually includes the main product chosen and in my experience one or two jewelry pieces.

You can open the bag with various different products ranging from bags or jewelry to beauty products or shoes. Each month VIPS are offered the option to skip the month, or if you do not skip your credit card will be charged $10.00 that can be used in a later opened bag purchase.  Non VIPS are not able to skip months.

This is one of the more expensive monthly subscription services, but with the option to skip each month and being guaranteed to know what you are getting before it ships, the price is justified for me. After you pick your item and depending on if you choose to bundle or not, the "Stylist Picks" are revealed after purchase.  Then you have a week to trade the products that you choose for other items.  Some people are really good at trading and are able to get really good boxes shipped out.  I wouldn't say that I'm one of those people, but I'm working on it!

Little Black Bag has recently merged with fashion app, Pose. The Little Black Bag name was thrown out and now it's just Pose. Before the merger there were several amazing sales for LBB to get rid of their stock. Here is the first of four orders that I recently received.

Wanted 'Austwell' boots in grey
While I had an open bag, Little Black Bag had a sale. A huge selection of shoes were all $10.00. This wasn't something I could pass up, especially since I already had an open bag. I added these boots to my bag since I don't have a pair of grey boots. They are really comfortable and fit well. I didn't even need to break these shoes in - they were comfortable the moment I tried them on. The only issue that I have with these boots is that they scratch up really easily.  The first day that I wore these boots, I had black scuff marks all along the heels of the boots.

Catherine Stein Designs Midi Ring set.
This set included four midi rings.
An open arrow
Star
Filigree
Flower

Jules Smith Lighting Bolt Earings in gold.
These earrings were bigger than I expected, but I still like them.  I think that these earrings would look better on someone in the second hole of the ears so that it lays nicer on the ear. I only have one hole in each ear so the lightning bolt hung a little lower than my ear.

Jules Smith Open Heart cuff bracelet.
This is the item that I opened my bag with. I really liked the wooden hearts on this bracelet.

Lolita Jewelry Skull bracelet

Although Little Black Bag is currently closed, many of the same products and trading structure still exists through Pose.

FabFitFun March 2014

Fab Fit Fun

Price: $49.99 per season

Ships out: Quarterly

The Extras: This box is curated by Giuliana Rancic from E!. The box is pricey but promises full size and premium samples that will at least have $100.00 worth of products in each box.

First Look!

1 oz. The Better Chip Spinach and Kale with Sea Salt Chips

Level Naturals shower bomb four pack. I tried one of these tablets in the shower and I didn't smell anything and it didn't really dissolve. I thought that maybe it was too far from the shower drain and water, so I moved it closer to where the water was falling.  The tablet dissolved but I still did't smell anything.  I have heard from others that it is a strong minty scent, so I will try it out again and hopefully it will work.

Cover FX SPF 30 Protection Primer

FULL SIZE! Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo I can always use a new dry shampoo and I'm excited to try this new one out.

FULL SIZE! Merrithew mini stability ball and workout DVD

FULL SIZE! Cult Gaia wired head scarf.  This product was advertised as a sneak peek before the boxes shipped. I was really excited to receive this head scarf and thought that it would be really cute to wear. After I tried it on with my sister, we decided that my head was not made for scarfs and she took it.

FULL SIZE! Kai perfume oil This oil has an interesting fresh scent. I could people either loving it or hating in. Thankfully I really like the scent. I put it on in the early morning and during a meeting hours later, I could still smell the scent.

FULL SIZE! Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt

I ordered the Klutch Club March box, but I am fairly certain that I received the February box. I'm not too upset about receiving the February box, since I hadn't received that one either. Keep reading to see what I received in my Febuarch box.
